How to Clean Your Disposable Gloves When Working With Resin Art

Disposable Gloves

Disposable gloves are a must-have item for mixed media artists. Epoxy resin is toxic and you should take safety precautions and wear disposable gloves when working with it.

I used to think I had to get a clean pair of gloves with every project until I learned how to clean the epoxy resin off of my gloves. Now I reuse my gloves until I tear them… then I absolutely need a new pair!

created this video to quickly show you two methods to clean the epoxy resin off of your disposable gloves. Both methods work well and I know you will want to start reusing your disposable gloves once you see how easy it is to clean them!

Do you need to purchase disposable gloves? I have created a list on Amazon that shows the gloves that are available for purchase.  I encourage you to purchase 2 boxes…. one for you and one to donate to a healthcare worker.

Denatured Alcohol

The first method to clean your disposable gloves is to use denatured alcohol. Leaving your gloves on your hands, place a small amount of the denatured alcohol on a paper towel, and start cleaning your gloves.

The resin usually comes off easily. If you need to use a little more denatured alcohol then put a small amount on a clean paper towel and clean your gloves again.

Keep cleaning your gloves until all of the resin is off. When they are clean, pull the gloves off by the fingertips and lay them in a safe place until you are ready to use them in your next project.

Baby Wipes

The second method to clean your disposable gloves is to use baby wipes. Leaving your gloves on your hands, grab a couple baby wipes and start to clean your gloves.

I like this method the best because I usually have a package of baby wipes on my desk and they are easy to grab without making a mess.

Keep cleaning your gloves until all of the resin is off. When they are clean, pull the gloves off by the fingertips and lay them in a safe place until you are ready to use them in your next project.
